Presidency of revenge

Posted

To the editor:

Donald J. Trump's revenge presidency now threatens to harm the health of all Americans and all people around the world.  Trump has reversed the Obama-era policies that support all federal actions on curbing planet warming gasses.

The 2009 endangerment finding concluded that greenhouse gasses were a threat to public health especially from vehicles. The science supporting carbon reduction measures is clear, but we have all learned that Trump has as little respect for science as he has for the truth.  Environmental groups say they will challenge this dangerous reversal in court.

Locally, Trump has ordered the removal of the LGBTQ Pride flag in the park in front of the Stonewall Inn.  How dumb and impossible is this?

The LGBTQ community in NYC will never allow Trump to reverse all the civil rights advances they have made in the last half century.  For every flag that Trump’s thugs take down, 10 Pride flags will go up in front of the Stonewall Inn and in other locations.

Trump, you jackass, this is something you will never win, even for a week or a day.  This may give Trump a reason for bringing ICE into Greenwich Village which could possibly result in more murders by ICE sadists like those that have happened in Minnesota.

The court has stated that the Gateway Tunnel Project in NY and NJ will resume and Trump must fund the project unless an appeals court reverses that decision - that is unlikely.  His revenge politics fail again, but he’s immune to shame and embarrassment so his moronic nonsense rambles on.

The failure of Attorney General Pam Bondi’s office to indict any of the six members of Congress in Trump’s unconstitutional revenge attacks on his political enemies, whom he claimed are traitors whose acts of sedition warranted the death penalty (for advising members of the military they must refuse to obey clearly illegal orders) shows her utter incompetence and disrespect for the US Constitution.

If anyone had any doubts about Attorney Pam Bondi’s lack of respect for the law and the truth, they had only to watch her petulant and snappishly angry performance, promoting Trump’s lies, in the Congressional hearing on the Epstein files, with many victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s crimes present, to see just how unfit she is for the critically important legal job.

Things couldn’t get much worse for Donald J. Trump, but blinded by revenge and possibly bitter about his failing health, he marches on as if he will live and rule forever.  If this were a theatrical event it would be comical; but this is the story of a malignant narcissist who has been supported by Republican toadies who fear Trump more than they fear the catastrophic harm he can bring down on America and the world.

Your letter expressing criticism of President Trump has not been received with the desired response.

Nevertheless, persist in your efforts; it is amusing to read fictional narratives about Mr. Trump from individuals who harbor animosity towards him because they disagree with his policies.

@Word Man (aka JDonne and 0000)

I respectfully disagree. Michael Gorman's criticism of the Trump policies that are causing harm to Americans was very well received by many who agree, including myself. None of what he wrote expresses an animosity to Trump personally...just his policies. I've observed that many Trump supporters, such as yourself, seem to take any criticism of his policies as personal attacks. I find this to be amusing since many of his policies will result in harms that will impact generations in the effects they will have on air/water quality, our viability as a nation, etc. and that's personal.

Nevertheless, persist in your efforts; it is amusing to read delusional narratives trying desperately to sane-wash Trump from individuals who have on such heavily-tinted rose-colored glasses that they are effectively blind to the shortcomings of his policies.

Wpeakes, very well said. Trump's delusion and progressing dementia is obvious, and to take him seriously is something I cannot understand - regardless of one's political views. I would never last as a newsman or journalist because I would just keep repeating, "the man (Trump) is nuts. King George III and worse.

I disagree with Gorman’s surly letters about Mr. Trump.

    You champion Gorman’s letters.

That is what makes the world go around, differing opinions, Mr. Speaks!

I’m curious, what had taken you so long to respond to my post, Mr. Speaks?
