The Sergeants Benevolent Association urged a cautious approach to the case of a Sergeant who shot a male friend of his girlfriend in the face, then was captured on surveillance video dropping a knife near the man, then removing it, as he lay on a Brooklyn sidewalk.
The New York Times reported, quoting neighbors of the girlfriend, that Sgt. Ritchard Blake, and the man he shot on Aug. 2, Thavone Santana, were in conflict over the woman.
