To the Editor: The United Federation of Teachers has made some indisputably sound proposals for how the stimulus money should be invested. According to Chalkbeat, these include the establishment of teams to offer "academic intervention for students and assist with their mental health needs."
To optimize learning prospects, the UFT also seeks an experimental program that would significantly lower class size in many schools where intervention is most needed.
