While negotiations on the state budget sputtered in Albany, with legislators blowing well past the April 1st deadline, New York’s unions have kept up the pressure on state politicians to get their priorities included in the spending plan.
And on Monday, labor leaders and their members joined with state and local lawmakers in City Hall Park to advocate for an increase to the minimum wage to $21.25 and indexing future raises to inflation.
