Even as Mayor Adams and Governor Hochul hailed the decline in new Omicron cases, unions blasted a New York City Housing Authority policy that permits managers to work remotely but requires their subordinates whose jobs could be done that way to report to their job sites.
In a Jan. 19 letter to District Council 37 Executive Director Henry Garrido, Mitchell Feder, first vice president of Civil Service Technical Guild Local 375, reported that members of his local were either "being exposed to Covid virtually every day" or reporting "that someone at their workplace has come down with the virus and exposed others to it."
