NYC workers roast Trump as ‘Restaurant Owner-in-Chief’ over subminimum wage

The hundreds of protesters outside the Trump Tower in Manhattan on Monday rallying for an end to the subminimum wage for tipped workers were among tens of thousands across the country who took to the streets on Labor Day. 

The Fifth Avenue rally was organized by One Fair Wage, a national organization working to raise wages for tipped workers in the service sector. So far, seven states have barred the tiered system that permits employers to pay some workers, such as servers and bartenders, less than minimum wage.
