All 70 NYCHA employees embroiled in a bribery scheme who were arrested in February 2024 have now been convicted, the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Southern District of New York announced on Tuesday.
Dozens of employees participated in a decades-long bribery scheme to direct city contracts to vendors that provided the employees with payoffs. In total, 56 defendants pleaded guilty to felony charges, 11 pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges, and three others were convicted following jury trials.
