About two dozen plumbers in denim uniforms and chunky brown boots stood behind city and union leaders at a Western Queens training center on Monday as officials announced a labor deal designed to create more middle-class jobs.
Mayor Eric Adams and city representatives unveiled two Project Labor Agreements (PLA) on Nov. 24 with the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York, covering more than $7 billion in city capital projects. The agreements would give lower-income residents jobs.
