Construction workers will now receive compulsory training on mental health awareness, alcohol and substance abuse as well as suicide risk and prevention under legislation passed by the City Council last month. Introduction 1384 sponsored by Council Member Linda Lee pushes the Department of Buildings to update its site safety training cards that every construction worker in the city is trained on.
The bill was backed by the Building Trades Employers’ Association, an organization representing 1,200 New York union contractors,
