The Chief is instituting a moratorium on letters addressing the war between Israel and Hamas-led militants. Although the conflict and its associated issues have garnered several such letters since Oct. 7, the tenor of some opinions threatens to undermine the civil debate we would like to cultivate on these pages. We will rethink this pause when the war ends.
