She remodeled her Nassau County home, indulged in spa treatments, purchased luxury items and otherwise spent tens of thousands of dollars, all of it using funds intended to provide employment and education services for needy New Yorkers.
In return, Marcia Joseph, 59, a former longtime fiscal officer at a Brooklyn nonprofit, will spend nearly two years in prison. Joseph, of Baldwin, New York, was sentenced last week to 21 months behind bars following her January 2024 guilty plea to wire fraud charges.
