Workers who deliver Amazon packages from a facility in Woodside Queens marched on their bosses Tuesday to declare that they are unionizing with Local 804 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Around 200 workers at the DBK1 facility have joined Local 804, the union announced Tuesday afternoon, the second group of Amazon delivery drivers in Queens who have done so in the last two years.
José Huerta, a driver based in the DBK1 facility, said the strike of drivers at Amazon’s DBK4 facility in Maspeth, Queens that delayed deliveries and led to several arrests was a “wakeup call” for him and his coworkers.
